9/28/2023 0 Comments Halo 4 spartan armor![]() ![]() Defender: The helmet looks like a disfigured MK-V helmet. The order is not any indication of rating, just how they showed up in the list on Halo 4 as I looked through. These are the Helmet variants I do not like for aesthetic reasons and functionality. Warning: this list is my own and does not have any bearing on those that may disagree with my choices and reason. Oceanic is obviously for aquatic missions etc. It had all of these extra plates on it and it had a knife and all of these details that made it look like it would be used in CQB conditions.Įdit: Not to say that a lot of Halo 4's permutations don't match the description or anything. For example in Halo 3, CQB matched the title. In the other halo games you had an idea of what each armor system was built for (with the exception a few. Wetworks has a visor that you can look out of with your nose and I don't even know what kind of creature a helmet like Pioneer would be practical for. I can't imagine any functionality to Warmaster's full faced face shaped visor. Hazop has a visor that covers all three of a spartan's two eyes. Orbital has a skull printed on it, which isn't my cup of tea but whatever. It feels like the element of functionality has been replaced by aesthetics, which don't get me wrong are also important but like c'mon. So you toss the helmet? Doesn't seem very practical if you ask me. What happens when the visual uplink to display your environment gets damaged? Can't see shit since there's nothing to see out of. I mean, come on, half of them don't even have visors. Those felt very unique to Halo, and I think the new "generic sci-fi" direction the armors are less about having or carrying on a distinctive look than it is about the "cool" factor. I also miss the "armored motocross" look of the previous games' armors. None of the different wrist armors look like anything other than different designs from different companies. GPS wrist plate, Leg armor pack, etc) that would make sense compared to simple aesthetic differences in how each manufacturer decided to spit out the new MJOLNIR armors. The different armor varients for Reach felt like they each had a tactical purpose (ex. I agree though, the Spartan IV armor varients are pretty dumb to me. The Crysis suit doesn't have much overlying armor pieces (if any), and the helmets in H4 are far more "sci-fi" than both previous Halo iterations, as well as the Nanosuit. Perhaps the undersuit as it now has the same "human muscle" design rather than just a big undefined suit, but I like that aspect of it. I also disagree about the Crysis knockoff comment. I agree that it looks stupid, but not that it makes it any harder to distinguish the armor from the body pieces. I think the biggest issue you have with the bodysuit and armor colours is that a portion of the bodysuit is the same colour as your primary armor thereby making the black undersuit be less prominent in contrast.
